Why a Facialist became a Kambo Practitioner
If you had told me a few years ago that I'd become a Kambo practitioner, I would've laughed at you. It wasn't on my radar. I wasn't searching for it. In fact, I knew very little about the medicine.
But then I started seeing frogs everywhere. -
Around that same time, Kambo slowly began making its way into my life through podcasts, practitioners, and conversations that seemed too perfectly timed to ignore. I didn't rush toward it. I let my curiosity lead, and when the timing finally felt right, I said yes.
Looking back, I don't think I found Kambo. I think Kambo found me.
The beautiful part is that becoming a Kambo practitioner never felt like leaving skincare behind. It felt like following the same thread I'd been pulling on my entire career.
What creates the conditions for the body to thrive?
That curiosity first led me to skin. Eventually, it led me here.
What Is Kambo?
Kambo is a traditional Amazonian medicine derived from the secretion of the Giant Monkey Frog (Phyllomedusa bicolor). For generations, Indigenous tribes have worked with this medicine as part of cleansing, strengthening, and ceremonial practices.
Unlike many other plant medicines, Kambo is non-psychoactive. It doesn't alter your perception or take you "somewhere else." Instead, it invites you more fully into your body.
What makes Kambo especially fascinating is its remarkable composition. The secretion contains a rich library of naturally occurring bioactive peptides—small messenger molecules that interact with various systems throughout the body. Today, these compounds continue to draw interest from researchers studying immunity, inflammation, circulation, digestion, and cellular communication.
For me, Kambo is where ancient wisdom and modern science beautifully intersect.
More Than "Frog Medicine"
-
At first glance, Kambo can sound unusual—even a little intimidating.
But beneath the surface is one of nature's most remarkable biochemical libraries.
-
The secretion of the Giant Monkey Frog contains dozens of naturally occurring bioactive peptides—small messenger molecules that communicate with the body in powerful ways.
-
These peptides are one of the reasons Kambo has captured the attention of researchers around the world.
A few fascinating facts:
Peptides
Kambo contains one of the richest known collections of bioactive peptides found in nature.
Peptide Power at a Glance
Many of these peptides are being studied for their potential roles in immune function, inflammation, circulation, digestion, and cellular communication.
Pharmaceutical Research
Some peptides found in Kambo have inspired pharmaceutical research due to their unique biological properties.
Non-Psychoactive
Unlike many medicines, Kambo is non-psychoactive—it works with the body, not the mind.
Indigenous Communities
Indigenous communities have worked with this medicine for generations, long before science began studying what makes it so remarkable.
Why Kambo Lives Here
Living Archive exists to explore the intersection of beauty, biology, ritual, and consciousness.
Kambo belongs here because it embodies all four.
To me, beauty has never been separate from the body. The body has never been separate from the mind. And healing has never been separate from the conditions that make it possible.
Kambo reflects everything Living Archive has always stood for—not because it promises transformation, but because it invites it.
It reminds us that transformation isn't something we force. It's something we create the conditions for.
Your Invitation
If Kambo is meant to be part of your story, trust that you'll know.
There's nothing to force.
Nothing to prove.
Nothing to rush.
Only an invitation to listen.
